I've been away.
Sorry. I just haven't really had the time. I've been doing a lot around the house, a lot of overtime, and a built myself a new computer. I'll be back online soon. I'm doing some catching up, and this week's Derby has me inspired once more.

Oh, BTW... April fools...
For those of you who didn't read the full post last time I went up.
Sorry for my absence. I have not found anything worth writing about. I did get the two shirts from DBH that I most recently showed, and they turned out lovely. I may do an actual review and unbagging of them if I get that desperate.
It is worth mentioning that Prawspectiv has officially launched. They have a print and everything!

Forget all this T-Shirt business.
I'm going to stop writing about beautiful artwork that is almost solely made for the T-Shirt medium. That ship has sailed. I don't know what I was thinking. I mean, who wants to read about and look at graphic tees, anyway? Lame people, that's who.
So, now I'm moving on to bigger and better things. Shirts are out, and I know what the next big thing is. PANTS!

DBH gives shoppers discount codes, I guess.
First time buyer with DesignByHümans, and I've learned some nifty things about them. Shoppers can earn "DBH $" toward future purchases by doing certain things. For instance, taking pictures of yourself in their wares or recommending friends to their site. They gave me a discount code to use and share with others that's good for 10% off your (or my) whole order valid through 14 April 2011. You can see it past the break.

Seems familiar.
Okay, so this post is going to be very similar to the last. Not on purpose, but that's just how it fell into place. I found another shirt on DesignByHümans, that's a one colour print, and is music themed. I like it a bit more, to be honest.

I knew I was forgetting something!
Design By Hümans. There's a good one that always escapes my memory. They seem to have a lot going for themselves. More artists than I can shake the proverbial stick at, most of which I have not heard of. This oughtta spice things up!

New website, I'm intrigued.
I know there are more than 3 t-shirt voting sites out there, but I have a comfort zone. I'll branch soon enough; don't you worry. Anyway there's a new one on the block, and there's a lot of talent showing up to the party already. Prawspectiv is the name they're going with. Hmm... No, I don't have any idea either.
They're won't be any prints until mid-April, but they are already accepting submissions. Here are some highlights:

It printed!
Awesome. It's always a happy day for me when a shirt that deserves to print actually makes it. Especially on Shirt.Woot!. Most of the time I end up being incredibly disappointed with all of the winners, but this one had 2 illustrations that I feel were worth a print. BootsBoots's design, Don't Look Back, I've Got You, made 3rd! Not the position it should have gotten, but it's a print! Go pick it up, $15.
Sorry about the late-ish post on this one, it's been an interesting couple of days. I did intend to put this up on print day though.

This one kinda crept up on me.
So I've been looking around a lot lately at different types of designs, different websites, and mediums for nifty things to write about, but I keep coming back to the same old places and style. I'll branch out in due time. Whatever. They look damn good, and it's easier to go to sites which I have memorised, like Threadless.

Finally...
As you may have heard, 1 post ago, I've been hunting for unprinted designs in contests that deserve votes. I found one! It's on Shirt.Woot!'s derby. I was going to wait until further in to the week to make any calls on a good design, but I believe I have found it. Some may come up later. I'll keep you posted. This one needs recognition NOW!

This is more difficult than I thought it was going to be.
I think I'm being too picky. I have been looking at design submissions for the past hour so I could promote some new stuff, but I'm coming up empty for things I would actually buy. I don't feel that I'm that hard to please...
Anyways, here's a design from Threadless that I quite fancy.

Too much blue on this page...
I just noticed that both shirts already reviewed on this page were blue. I know it matches the rest of the current site design, but it's a bit much, don't you think? Sure you do! Here's a brown shirt. From Goodjoe:

Quite interesting
I found this design on Threadless, and I thought I'd share it with you. Not quite sure how I feel about it personally, but it is definitely something worth mentioning.

For starters...
I'd like to start off the actual posts with my favourite shirt so far. The first arty print I bought, and the design that launched me into this mini obsession. Even though it's not new, and I have seen a lot since then, it maintains its position at #1 in my list of designs.

Welcome!
Welcome to "Great Illo!" soon to be a full-fledged art T-Shirt commentary. I'm Ian, and I'll be your host for the duration of this adventure. Get the full scoop on all the details after the break!
